GPS Link 2 – Shooters to Morning Glory
Looking for a big loop on single track and fire road? This area has plenty of opportunity for quick out and backs or various twenty-five mile loops. There are many different starting points for this area, so you’ll need a guide book if you’re from out of town.
You can access Shooters from Poly Canyon, Stage Coach Road, or the top of West Cuesta Ridge (top of the grade highway 101). Killer single track with big loop options via fire road/paved road to Morning Glory (primo single track), Cerro Alto (more single track) , and Poly Canyon (fire road with of course more single track).
One of the best loops starts at lower Stage Coach Road (fire road) up to TV Tower Road. Turn right and head to the unmarked Morning Glory Trail just past second set of towers on the left (rad single track – Refer to Fat Tire Fun ). Drop in and keep making lefts. You’ll find yourself in Poly Canyon after a few miles of rocky and nasty single track. Make the long climb up Shooters to the top of the ridge and return to Stage Coach Road.
*Bombers – Bombers is about 2/3 of the way up Shooters. You’ll see it clearly dropping to the right from a very large turn out. It is steep. The top half is rideable, but the second half is definitely at the “expert level.” Intermediate riders will have difficulty walking their bikes down it.
